These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the PlateXpert mobile application and related services (the "App" or "Platform"). By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") are also available in the application via the top-right menu → Terms & Conditions.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Platform. If you are under the age of majority in your country of residence, you confirm that you have permission from a parent or legal guardian to use the Platform.

3. The Service

PlateXpert enables users to:

• capture or upload images of vehicle license plates in the UAE, or manually enter plate attributes (emirate, code, number),
• extract plate attributes using automated processing, and
• receive an estimated plate valuation in AED.

The Platform may also offer community and marketplace features, including a public leaderboard, comments, marketplace listings (offers/requests), and a user-to-user chat for marketplace negotiations.

4. Important Disclaimer: Estimates Only (No Guarantee)

PlateXpert provides estimated valuations for informational purposes only. Results are not guaranteed and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated, and may differ from actual market prices.

You acknowledge and agree that:

• the Platform does not provide financial, investment, legal, or professional advice,
• valuation results are informational only,
• the Platform does not make any recommendation to buy, sell, or transact; any decision you make is solely your responsibility,
• market prices can change rapidly,
• automated recognition may misread an emirate, code, letters, or numbers due to image quality or other factors, and
• you are responsible for verifying any information before making decisions.

5. Accounts and Anonymous Use

You may use certain Platform features without creating an account ("anonymous use"), subject to limitations (including daily usage limits) displayed in the App.

Certain features (including posting, commenting, marketplace participation, or chat) may require authentication for safety, abuse prevention, and enforcement of these Terms.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of any authentication method you use (OTP/email verification, Sign in with Apple, Sign in with Google) and for all activity under your account.

6. Usage Limits, Abuse Prevention, and Fair Use

The Platform may impose usage limits on free or paid features to prevent abuse, automated usage, fraud, or excessive requests. Limits and quotas may vary by product and may change over time.

You agree not to:

• use bots, automation, scripts, or scraping to interact with the Platform,
• attempt to bypass quotas or security controls,
• interfere with the Platform's normal operation, or
• use the Platform for harassment, fraud, scams, or illegal activity.

7. Purchases, Look Ups, and Subscriptions

A "Look Up" means one valuation request (by photo upload or manual entry).

7.1 In-App Purchases Only

Digital goods and services within the Platform are sold via Apple In-App Purchase (iOS) and Google Play Billing (Android), as applicable.

7.2 Types of Paid Access

The Platform may offer:

• one-time purchases of Additional Look Ups, and/or
• auto-renewing subscriptions that provide a monthly quota of Look Ups.

Product names, prices, billing period, and included Look Ups are shown in the purchase screen before you confirm payment.

7.3 Subscriptions (Monthly Quota)

If you subscribe to a plan that includes a monthly quota (e.g., "100 Look Ups per month"):

• your quota renews each billing period,
• unused Look Ups do not roll over to the next period, and
• if your subscription ends, any remaining unused Look Ups for the current subscription period may no longer be available after expiry.

Subscriptions auto-renew unless canceled through your Apple ID / App Store subscriptions or Google Play subscriptions.

You can manage or cancel your subscription in the Platform via the "Manage Subscriptions" link, which redirects you to Apple/Google subscription management.

7.4 One-Time Purchases (Additional Look Ups)

The Platform offers one-time purchases of Additional Look Ups:

• Additional Look Ups are added to your account/entitlement after purchase confirmation,
• unless otherwise required by law, purchased Additional Look Ups do not expire, and
• Additional Look Ups are consumed when you complete a Look Up.

7.5 Refunds

Payments and refunds are processed under Apple App Store and Google Play policies and any applicable law. The Operator does not control Apple's or Google's refund decisions.

Lookups consumed due to incorrect automated plate recognition are non-refundable. To ensure accuracy, you may use the manual input option on the home screen.

If you believe you are entitled to a refund, you should request it through the App Store / Google Play support channels. For Google Play purchases, depending on timing and the reason for the request, refunds may be handled either through Google Play or through our support at info@platexpert.ae.

7.6 Restore Purchases

Where applicable, the Platform provides a "Restore Purchases" function to re-check eligible purchases made with the same Apple ID or Google account.

8. Community, Leaderboard, and Marketplace

8.1 General

The Platform may allow users to publish content visible to others, including:

• leaderboard posts,
• comments, and
• marketplace listings (offers/requests).

You are solely responsible for your content and interactions with other users.

8.2 Marketplace Is Not a Broker or Escrow

The Platform is a classifieds/community platform. The Operator:

• does not broker transactions,
• does not verify listings, ownership, legality, or accuracy of user statements,
• does not provide escrow, payment collection, or delivery services, and
• is not responsible for disputes between users.

Any transaction or negotiation is at your own risk. Use caution and common sense.

8.3 Marketplace Chat

The Platform provides a user-to-user chat for marketplace negotiation. Chat messages are not publicly visible.

To maintain safety and enforce these Terms, the Operator may access or review chat messages when reasonably necessary (for example, to investigate abuse, respond to reports, ensure platform safety, or comply with legal obligations). Access is restricted to authorized personnel on a need-to-know basis.

9. User Content Rules (UGC Rules)

9.1 Your Content and License to Operate the Platform

You retain ownership of content you upload or post ("User Content"). You grant the Operator a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, process, display, and distribute your User Content solely for:

• operating and providing the Platform,
• displaying your posts to other users as you direct (e.g., posting to the public leaderboard),
• moderation, safety, abuse prevention, and enforcement of these Terms, and
• legal compliance.

9.2 Prohibited Content

You must not upload, post, send, or share content that:

• is unlawful, promotes illegal activity, or violates applicable UAE laws or regulations,
• contains harassment, hate speech, discrimination, threats, or bullying,
• contains sexually explicit content, pornography, or exploitation,
• contains violence or encourages harm,
• includes another person's personal data (doxxing), such as phone numbers, addresses, IDs, or private images without consent,
• infringes intellectual property or privacy rights,
• is deceptive, fraudulent, or intended to scam users,
• contains spam, unwanted advertising, or repeated solicitation, or
• impersonates another person or entity.

9.3 Moderation, Filtering, Reporting, and Enforcement

To reduce abuse and objectionable material, the Platform uses a combination of:

• automated filters (including profanity/spam detection for comments and chat),
• pre-publication review for certain content or users (including marketplace listing approval and other safeguards),
• in-app reporting tools, and
• in-app blocking tools.

The Operator may remove, restrict, suspend, hide, or delete content at any time if it believes content violates these Terms or creates risk for users or the Platform.

9.4 Reporting and Response Time

Users can report content in-app. The Operator reviews reports and takes action where appropriate, typically within 24–48 hours (business constraints and severity may affect timing).

9.5 Blocking

Users can block other users in-app. Blocking may limit interactions and visibility as available in the Platform.

10. License to Use the App

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, the Operator grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Platform for personal, non-commercial purposes.

You may not:

• copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, or reverse engineer the App,
• attempt to access the Platform's source code or underlying models except as permitted by law, or
• use the Platform to build a competing product.

11. Intellectual Property

All Platform software, designs, text, graphics, and trademarks (excluding User Content) are owned by or licensed to the Operator and protected by applicable laws.

12. Privacy

Your use of the Platform is also governed by the PlateXpert Privacy Policy, available in the App and on the Operator's website. In case of conflict between these Terms and the Privacy Policy regarding privacy topics, the Privacy Policy governs those topics.

13. Availability and Changes

The Platform may be modified, updated, suspended, or discontinued at any time. Features may change, including free usage limits, marketplace rules, and available products.

The Operator may update these Terms from time to time. If changes are material, the Operator will provide reasonable notice (e.g., in-app notice). Continued use after the effective date of revised Terms means you accept the updated Terms.

14. Termination and Suspension

The Operator may suspend or terminate your access to the Platform (including accounts) if:

• you violate these Terms,
• your behavior creates risk or legal exposure, or
• you engage in fraud, abuse, harassment, or illegal activity.

You may stop using the Platform at any time and request account deletion through in-app settings (if you created an account).

15. Disclaimers

The Platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis to the maximum extent permitted by law.

The Operator disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, reliability, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

The Operator does not warrant that:

• valuation results will be accurate,
• plate extraction will always work, or
• the Platform will be uninterrupted or error-free.

16. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Operator and its affiliates, directors, employees, and service providers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business opportunities arising out of your use of the Platform.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Operator's total liability for any claim relating to the Platform will not exceed the amount you paid to the Operator through the Platform in the three (3) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim (or, if you paid nothing, AED 0).

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain liability limitations; in that case, limitations apply to the fullest extent permitted.

17. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Operator from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:

• your User Content,
• your violation of these Terms,
• your misuse of the Platform, or
• your violation of any law or third-party rights.

18. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates as applied in the Emirate of Dubai.

Any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms or the Platform will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Dubai Courts.

19. App Store / Google Play Terms

You acknowledge that Apple and Google are not parties to these Terms and are not responsible for the Platform. Your use of the Platform is also subject to applicable Apple/Google store terms and policies.
